San Antonio and Schertz

We got in from Denton yesterday. We both spent the day with family and reacquainting ourselves with people etc.

It has really changed here. We are staying in a hotel on 3009 that was being built when I left. There is a new one being built right next to it. There are so many new stores and buildings that I hardly recognize this place anymore. I guess its kind of like how old people feel when they look around. The difference here is that it has changed so much in such a short time.

Schertz/Cibolo had 10,000 people when we first moved here in 2000. Now it is somewhere around 100,000 people. Crazy jump in just eight years. Not only that, the biggest jump came post-2004 which is when I graduated. It definitely is not the same place it was.

That is both good and bad.

Good: It means Schertz doesn't suck as much as it used to. There used to be nothing to do here. This was one of those towns where the best place to hang out was in a field with your buddies and a 12 pack. Now there are actually places to go and things to do.

Bad: I don't know anyone here. There are a shitload of kids. I don't recognize much.

eh, whatryagunnado uh?
