Lamar Odom and the Mavericks

Lets be clear. Dude isn't going anywhere.

But, let's imagine shall we? Local sports talk radio is hinting that it could be a possibility. I figure it that is because its something to talk about on a slow summer day when all the regular hosts are on vacation.

Because the mavericks lost out on Gortat, they are left with a bunch of nothing (Dampier) at center. I've already talked this somewhat with the Marion deal.

Playing the style they played last year: kinda sorta uptempo, trying to be good defenders, etc is going to put them into the also-ran category. I predicted a second round out.

You have two spot up jump-shooters in Terry and Dirk, and two athletes who can get up and donw the floor in Howard and Marion, and a point guard who can lead the break ( Kidd ). I would say 'fuck it' and put Odom in there as well. Trade Dampier for some promising scrubbies who can run and jump while the fogies ( starting five would all be >30 yo) catch their breath.

So yes. I am saying they should just go all out and do the run and gun style that made the Suns so successful (lol).

This would have been a really great idea if they did it like 5 years ago though.

Again. I am so glad I am not a Mavericks fan.
