Ncaa 10 and UNT

I can't wait for NCAA 10. It's kind of funny. I used to be an NFL only type of guy. Actually to be honest, I suppose NFL only type of kid is more appropriate. I mean I remember watching a college game and thinking man I could never get into that mostly because I felt that the NFL was the best of the best so why would I bother with an inferior product?

Well it turns out that college football is more fun. I think alot of people have slowly come to appreciate it. I know a few of my friends have started watching it and following it as much as they do the NFL. ESPN now hypes it more than they did back even ten years ago.

What really got me into college football however, was NCAA 2003. My friend lent it to me for a few days way back when and I thought it was bad ass. I mean the game was not as good as Madden, but like most people, recruiting and building a dynasty was freakin awesome. Back then, Nebraska ran the option and Tech's Air Raid was still kind of an expiriment in college. It was like only them and Purdue that ran it semi-successfully (that I knew of--again, I was a cfb noob). For a video game, it was way better than Madden because of all that variety. I always wished the Cowboys would just go shotgun all game and throw 70 passes. So it was freakin awesome to play as a team that really did that and had the playbook for it too.

So from then on I started actually watching some of the games and now I am a fan.

Now I know all this is very nerdy and kind of lame. What is even lamer is how on ign dudes post their dynasties and their progress therin and give updates. Furthermore, even lamer is that people actually follow these things. Here is one dude doing a coaching dynasty starting at North Texas. Granted, alot of these dudes are kids in HS or something ( or so it seems ) so it isn't that lame.

Now, my inner-nerdiness wants to follow some of these things from time to time, but considering that I am in my early twenties now, and married to boot, I snap back to reality and say "wtf was I just about to do?"

Now here is point of all this: I am thinking about doing one. Why? Well, now that college football is littered with spread attacks, throwing the ball around is passe. I usually always play a dynasy with my fave team first and my secret fave team second ( over the years they have been VTech, Nebraska, Tech, WVU, USC, and NT ) .

I had planned on doing like some kind of season preview for the Mean Green this year. I couldn't get excited about it though. Most likely we will suck again. If not, we still are just beating other crappy no-name teams. That is not to say I am not a fan anymore or anything like that. I just realize that we ain't gonna hoist the BCS trophy this year.

Enter Video Games. That is the best thing about this damn game. I can make UNT a powerhouse. And I will. And I will chronicle that shit right here in this space. I dunno if I can bring myself to go all out like they do sometimes with fake quotes and fake press conferences etc. Well, I know I could, but I might feel too silly to keep it up.

So yeah. By the way, the game comes out July 14th. So sometime around that weekend I will have messed around with it a little and got the hang of the new features etc.
