NCAA 10 Further Impressions

Ok. I am definitely loving the pass rush. I played as USC v Texas just now online. I got a nice rush with the front four. That rarely happened in 09. Really, I might just declare this game great because of that. Last year you couln't contain a quick QB with just the D-Line. There was zero-edge contain.

With that said, let me make sure you know that it isn't like you have no time to throw the ball. Its more like there is a pocket and you have 3 to 5 seconds to throw before it starts to collapse around you. Better OLines will have more time of course, and crappier teams will get sacked more often. That is perfect. That is how I want it.

What is really cool is that you can move around in the pocket pretty nimbly without going full on scramble. My QB with USC shrugged off a few arm tackles and stepped up in the pocket to deliver a pass. Same with Colt McCoy when I played with Texas v Florida just now. (I won by the way)

Also I like the new catching animations too. The over the shoulder/looking back for the ball ones are freakin niceness.

UPDATE:

I didn't talk about the 'win' button aka Defensive Assist. I checked the ps3 manual. It is listed as a button. I tried using it in-game. Nothing. I noticed nothing different. There was a lot of bitching about it, but I think its akin to the defensive stance button in basketball. Kind of like a strafe or something.

In other words, don't stress over it.
