I don't like to blame referees. I am not even tempted to in this one. If Dork and co, got any calls, well, they should. They had home court. You assume that will happen.
If you are a Spurs fan (like me), think on this: It it was a six point game. They didn't get blown out. There were a lot of shots that juust missed, (either bounced out or rimmed out.) The Mavericks had Haywood with 10, and Bonner, Blair and Hill combined for 9. You know, regression to the mean and all that good stuff suggests that Haywood doesn't do so well, and the good guys get a few more.
If you like to worry: well just listen to all the reaction to the game everywhere. One thing I've learned about playoff reaction and coverage is that everyone loves to overreact. You'll hear stories on how there is no one that can stop Dirk from scoring less than 45, Duncan is dead, how the Spurs only have four guys, and that they are probably mad that their Social Security checks were late.
Of course, like most things, it is in the middle somewhere. Butler of course was a huge factor. I said as much on The Twitter. He scares me because a) he has something to prove, and b) the Spurs haven't had to deal with him as much as the other guys. He was a Leastern Conference guy forever.
The Spurs did, however, play typically inconsistently and were horrible moving the ball sometimes. That is the problem with playing so many young/new guys.
