Lucklily, he had a second shot at it. I heard in an interview that Holmes was the third read on the play where he made the winning grab. I haven't been able to really check out the play again, but really? Weren't there like three dudes around him on that play? And he was the MOST open?
I think you have to give Santonio the MVP in this one. Its the obvious choice. The guy with the most memorable grab in the game, and most clutch catches on the drive doesn't get the MVP? No. He has to have it.
Larry Fitzgerald is a beast. Wow. They did a good job of containing him for the first three quarters. It was smart. They didn't force it to him, or force their gameplan on the Steelers. The Cards did a good job of taking what was given for most of the game. It led to a score and probably would have been another if Harrison didn't step in between Boldin and the ball on the final play of the half.
When it got to crunch time, they got Fitz the ball. It worked. They would have won the game if not for the Cardinals defense allowing the game-winning 78 yard TD drive. But the D played well though for most of the game. Sadly, no one will remember that. It will all be about The twinkle-toe Grab by Number 10.
As it should be.
