So it is here. Today is the one time where we get to see what it would be like to have a playoff-type system. Oklahoma is the overwhelming favorite. I have a hard time envisioning a scenario where they lose. They have the best offense since the Bush-Leinhart-White teams. I know Vince and co averaged 50 a game their championship year, but they were a one-man team. This OU squad is stacked with players. Could they put up points the way they do without their trigger man? Of course not, but he is not the only guy to worry about. They can run it up and down the field if they chose to do so. That is why I think they win today. Their defense leaves Mizzou and opening, but given the cold conditions and the Tigers' lack of power running, I don't think they can score enough to keep up with the Sooners. Prediction?

On the subject of conference championship games-
I like 'em. When you realize that the NCAA is really more like UEFA rather than the NBA, it makes more sense that conferences have championship games. The Big XII is like the Premier League.
Alright, now what do I mean by that? Well the conferences are what matter. Sometimes, that is funny, when you have scrub conferences like the Pac 10, but it the most feasable way of managing so many schools. It meant something to win your conference once upon a time. Now, it is just a means to an end-getting a BCS bid.
